Our man in Paris Yazid Manou is back in print with his personal look at Jimi’s life and times. His previous publication was a compendium of short stories by various graphic novel artists titled Jimi Hendrix en BD. For decades, Yazid has been the number one Hendrix activist and press consultant in France with articles in all the top music magazines. In 1990 he initiated the Jimi’s Back festival in Paris, with film screenings, a photo exhibition and two concerts (l’Olympia and New Morning) featuring Noel Redding, Alvin Lee, Randy California, Luther and Bernard Alison among others. Following this he worked as a promotional director for Universal, MCA and Sony Music. Since 2002 he has given more than 30 conferences on the subject of Hendrix in France, North Africa and even in Benin – the birthplace of Voodoo!
The book is in French but maybe one day in English.
